If your requirement is for a specific millet variety not commonly stocked, raise it early — availability for less common varieties is more buyer-led than a standing catalogue item.

Whole grain millet has a longer shelf life and gives you control over milling specification if you're processing domestically. Flour is ready for direct use but is more sensitive to moisture and rancidity over time, given the grain's natural oil content — ask about milling date and storage conditions if importing flour rather than whole grain.
