Shipping & Export Policy

ShankuChakra exports from India via sea and air freight through established freight forwarding partners. Incoterms, packaging specification, container loading, and transit timelines are confirmed per order based on product, destination port, and buyer requirement — see our Quality & Specifications page for the documentation we can provide.

Minimum order quantities, lead times, and shipping costs vary by product and are shared as part of the quotation process. Submit a Sourcing Enquiry with your destination port and required quantity for a specific quote.

Trade terms (Incoterms® 2020)

• FOB (Free On Board) — we deliver cleared goods on board at the Indian port of loading; you arrange ocean freight and insurance.
• CFR (Cost and Freight) — we also arrange and pay ocean freight to your destination port; risk passes once goods are on board in India.
• CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) — as CFR, plus minimum marine cargo insurance arranged by us.

Ports of loading

The port of loading is chosen per order based on where the product is sourced and the destination's sailing schedule. Typical options are Chennai for Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh origins, Tuticorin (V.O. Chidambaranar) and Cochin for Kerala and southern origins, and Mundra for Gujarat and Rajasthan seed spices. The final port is confirmed in the quotation.

Packing and container loading

Bulk spices are normally packed in PP, jute or poly-lined bags; coco peat in compressed blocks, and rice in PP or jute bags. Net weight per 20ft or 40ft container depends on the product, its form (whole or powder) and the packaging chosen, so it is confirmed in the quotation rather than assumed. Palletisation and fumigation are provided when the destination requires them.

Shipment documents and tracking

Standard documents include the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, plus phytosanitary certificates, lab reports and fumigation certificates where required. Once the goods sail, we share the bill of lading, container number and carrier details so you can track the shipment directly on the shipping line's website.
